Embracing 30 with an 80's BASH

It's official, I've entered the 30's club!  Not only was I struggling with turning 30, I wasn't sure how I wanted to celebrate the big day. Since I was born in the 80's, why not bring the era back to life.  Eventhough it was really my parents and in-laws that lived the dancing parties, awesome neon colors and parachute pants, I thought it would be fun to try to recreate the 80's.   It was crunch time planning a party in 2 weeks, getting all the decorations together and invites out - It was a great success with family and friends!
Throwing a party at our house (aka - construction zone) meant there were several items I wanted to update/fix before we had our friends and family in our home. This included painting the kitchen cabinets and ceiling, painting the laundry room, lights in two rooms, Anthony fixing the broken beam in the garage and transforming our house into an 80's Bash.  It's exhausting to think that all of these goals were achieved.  Now ..........it's time to clean the house and get it decorated for the big day! Why did I clean the floors?

With the help of several companies, the party came together and we had a great time with a delicious taco truck!

That Party Chick provided me with a printable party pack that included signs, napkin rings, banner and food labels.

This colorful Happy 30th Birthday Banner is made specially from BellsNBerries
The banner was the perfect combination between neon's to blend with the party theme!

BellsNBerries also provided  great finger-less gloves for photo booth props

Pinktastik provided fablous 80s pins, a boombox decoration and water bottle labels.

Party Cheap supplied the  80's cutouts, graffiti signs, 80s tablecloth. napkins, plates and an 80s door sign.

These totally awesome koozies were provided by Brant Point Prep

Brant Point Prep can create the perfect koozie for any party!

Anthony sported his Brant Prep Point koozie all night.

My dad took Richard Simmons to another level by shaving his mustach that has only been shaved one other time in the 40 years my parents have been married!

 Twinsies

Thanks to all the girlies who made it to the party.

Cheers to 30 and the best year yet! I had an amazing time celebrating with family and friends. I couldn't imagine my 30th any different. Thank you to everyone who celebrated with me.

Eat. Drink. Play. Watch.

Last Wednesday was one for the history books! Dave & Buster's has opened a new location in Fresno, opening  their doors to our community yesterday in The Village at River Park. The 30,000 square foot destination is Fresno’s first Dave & Buster’s location & the 10th in California has an occupancy of 1,400 people, a state of the art sports bar, delicious food and drinks and the latest and greatest arcade games.  Dave & Buster's has hit a home run with their new location here in Fresno while also bringing an additional 220 new jobs to Fresno.

Wednesday afternoon I attended the Dave & Buster's media day and had an opportunity to see the facility inside and out. As you walk in the front doors the sports bar and restaurant is front and center.

This sports bar looks like it belongs in Vegas! Sports enthusiasts will find any and all sports available at Dave & Buster's bar.

Dave & Buster's also pride themselves on showcasing local teams; recognizing Fresno with special pictures throughout the bar and restaurant area.

In addition, Dave & Buster's has a FREE app download called Tunity. This app allows you to scan any muted live TV and stream it to your audio device of choice. Along with the massive HDTVS, stadium sound and game day specials – Dave & Buster's have some delicious signature cocktails – and believe me, they are delicious!

Here are a few of my favorites:

Passion Fruit Mega Mojito

Sailors Spiked Root Beer. (I don't like Root Beerbut enjoyed this cocktail!)

Coronits

In addition Dave & Buster's  NOT ONE BUT TWO  HAPPY HOURS!
Happy Hour (Mon – Fri 4:30 – 7pm) & Late Night Happy Hour (Sun – Thurs 9pm – close):
• 1/2 Price Cocktails, $2.50 domestic pints, $1 off 22 oz drafts, $1 off glasses of wine & $3 off bottles of wine
– Thursday/Sunday/Monday Fall Football Game Day Specials (10/20/17 – 2/5/17)
• $3.50 22 oz Select Draft Beers & $5 Game Day Appetizers

– 2 For Tuesdays: $2 Tacos, $2 Select Beers/Margaritas & 2 Free Plays with $10 Power Card purchase/re-charge (All Day)
– 1⁄2 Price Games Wednesday: All games are 1⁄2 Half Price (All Day)

As important as cocktails are...Dave & Buster's food  pairs perfectly with any drink.
The selection began with salads and covered everything in between all the way to dessert.
During the day I sampled several items from the menu; then returning that evening to have dinner in the sports bar area and tried some other items.

 Fives All Around

 The Hottie

 The Ultimate Mac N Cheese

 Buffalo Wing Burger

 The Lawnmower

The Caveman Combo

Like all meals, it would not be complete without dessert. During the day I sampled Dave & Buster's chocolate cake and Banana Fosters. The Banana Fosters was to DIE for,  I could have eaten it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The arcade area is the final piece to the puzzle and will not disappoint anyone as Dave & Buster's takes great pride in having 140 of the latest and greatest arcade games as well as still showcasing  the “oldies but goodies” on the floor. In addition, Dave & Buster's takes the air hockey game to the next level with a crazier than ever 4 person game! It was so much fun......

To a life size Connect 4...

The arcade games are continually updated as they add 10 new games each year.

To wrap up the experience, the staff was knowledgeable, kind and energetic about their work and provided an experience I will never forget. Thank you to Jeff, General Manager for his time and effort in making my first experience with Dave & Buster's one I will never forget.

Thank you to Dave & Buster's for an unforgettable experience!
